Cougars Registration Information





Age Groups:


NOVICE: ages 6-8, not turning 9 before December 31, 2018 (Birth Year 2010 - 2012)


ATOM: ages 9-10, not turning 11 before December 31, 2018 (Birth Year 2008 - 2009)


PEEWEE: ages 11-12, not turning 13 before December 31, 2018 (Birth Year 2006 - 2007)


BANTAM: ages 13-15, not turning 16 before December 31, 2018 (Birth Year 2003 - 2005)

No players entering GRADE 10 in September are eligible to play Bantam

*Birth Certificate or AHC to be viewed by registrar to verify DOB



Registration Fees for 2018:


Early Bird Fees: (player registration must be completed by midnight April 30)


Novice                  $200.00

Atom                    $375.00

Peewee                 $400.00

Bantam                 $400.00


Fees: (after April 30th)


Novice                  $225.00

Atom                    $400.00

Peewee                 $425.00

Bantam                 $425.00


*All players will also need to purchase football cleats (some soccer cleats are acceptable)



Equipment Deposit:


We require an equipment deposit cheque of $500.00, dated Dec 1, 2018. This cheque will not be deposited if all equipment is returned by Dec 1, 2018.


*Equipment includes - helmet, mouth guard, bag, pads, pants, practice jersey and game jersey.


Fundraising Requirements


Purchase of two (2) progressive 50/50 booklets at $75.00/booklet per player registered. Each booklets contain 25 tickets at $3.00/ticket. First draw will take place June 21, 2018. Second draw will be September 29, 2018.




Volunteer Commitment


All parents are required to volunteer 8 hours throughout the season at one of the following events:


- Concession

- High School Game Sticks

- Casino

Two(2) deposit cheques of $200.00 each - one(1) dated June 30, 2018 and one(1) dated September 15, 2018 are required.


The following are the requirements to receive Volunteer Deposit cheque returns:


Cheque dated June 30, 2018

- must be signed up to work 4 hour shift on SGDMFA Website on the volunteer page by June 30, 2018


Cheque dated September 15, 2018

- must be signed up to work 4 hour shift on the SGDMFA Website on the volunteer page by September 15, 2018


*if no commitment on website to volunteer by the above stated dates given the corresponding deposit cheque will be deposited.

**once committed to a shift it is the volunteers responsibility to ensure someone is there to fulfill the shift - no exception

***if volunteer does not show up for the committed shift the corresponding deposit cheque will be deposited

****please refer to P&P (on Website) for any clarification as well as for SGDMFA procedure in an event of an NSF cheque

Practices are held at the Fuhr Sports Park (next to the Tri Leisure Centre) from May thru October.  Novice and Atom practice 2 days per week - Wednesday and Thursday 6-8pm.  Peewee and Bantam practice 3 days per week - Tuesday 6-8pm, Wednesday and Thursday 6:30-8:30pm. 




Parent Commitments


As a parent of a player in SGDMFA, there exist minimum expectations that your association has of you.  These are your responsibility to carry out and it is necessary for you to fulfill these expectations in order to maintain yours and your child’s membership in SGDMFA.  To maintain your membership and the ability of this association to provide these opportunities to yourself and other members, you as a parent are expected to assist with the following at your players SGDMFA games:



-Score Keeping

-Snacks for Players

-selling 50/50 tickets

-selling programs



Equipment Fittings


Once player has been registered equipment fittings will be appointment only. An email will be sent out approximately 2-3 weeks before season start up to schedule players for equipment.  At this time please give the equipment manager the Equipment Deposit cheque and Volunteer Deposit cheque.  Equipment will not be release to player until both cheques are received.



Refund Policy


In order to withdraw from Spruce Grove Cougars Football a written letter of notification must be presented to the registrar via email.  Registrars email contact is found on website.  No refunds after June 30 (if player registered after June 30 - 7 day grace period will be given).   Refunds will be paid by cheque to person who paid original fees less $100 administration fee once equipment is returned.


*Fundraising Committee Fee will not be refunded
