Our Philosophy
At Elite Athlete Training Systems, we believe that success is dependent on an athlete’s willingness to commit to hard work. We believe that for an individual athlete to be successful in their academic lives, their family lives and in their pursuit of sporting excellence they must surround themselves with the best people. At Elite Athlete Training Systems, we truly believe in the strength and the power of community. We believe that the first step to becoming an elite performer is to surround yourself with others committed to the pursuit of excellence. We believe that effort and hard work are at the root of all success. At Elite Athlete Training Systems, your individual commitment to hard work will be supported by a strong community that is committed to results derived from pure effort.
We believe that the pursuit of elite athletic performance is a journey. We do not believe that it is an easy journey. It will take hard work, effort and tremendous commitment. You will have to make sacrifices, you will have to be disciplined; you will have to change. You will sweat; you will be sore; you may even swear at us. We are comfortable with that because we also know if you do these things you will see results!
We believe that true athletic performance is not specialized, it is instead a measure of an individual’s ability to excel at an infinite variety of pursuits including but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling heavy objects, running long distance and sprinting over short distances. Because we believe that true performance is constantly varying we believe it is essential that each athlete must first develop sound movement patterns and technique. This emphasis on technique will allow each athlete to maximize the results of their efforts regardless of the task. Additionally, we believe that competition within a peer group is essential in order to maximize individual effort. The integration of competition is rooted in our belief in the power of community. Competition motivates individuals, creates goals and holds us accountable for our efforts.
Programming
Our strength and conditioning programs have been developed by local strength coach and Elite Athlete Training Systems founder Brad Dayman. The E.A.T.S. Method has been evolving for more than a decade and is based on science and supported by hundreds and thousands of hours in the gym.
The E.A.T.S. Method focuses on the following:
- Building work capacity or general physical preparation (GPP). GPP is an athlete’s ability to sustain work for longer periods of time and to recover from that work in shorter periods of time.
- Teaching “good positions” and “good movement”. Good position and good movement are the foundation of all athletic pursuits.
- Developing proper movement patterns. Working with each athlete to identify and eliminate compensations through motor control cueing and mobility work.
- Improving trunk (core) strength to protect the spine through all movements and when under load.
- Mastering bodyweight exercises (push-ups, pull-ups, dips, body weight squats)
Functional Range Conditioning
At Elite Athlete Training Systems we believe that movement forms the foundation of athleticism. As such each of our strength and conditioning programs incorporates a focus on mobility and recovery work. We incorporate Functional Range Conditioning (FRC®) concepts into each and every training session. FRC is a system of joint health and mobility training developed by world-renowned musculoskeletal, and human movement expert Dr. Andreo Spina. FRC is based on scientific principles, research, and years of practice with world class athletes and teams. FRC moves athletes beyond passive mobility and works with them to not only expand their range of motion but more importantly to improve their control through that range of motion therefore improving their active mobility.
